I am a Southern Highlands NSW based artist working across painting, drawing and multimedia. I work in Expressionist and Impressionist styles across various subject matters, including landscape, still life and botanicals, with a focus on the unique effects of combining media in new ways. My interest in art history and the old masters is a constant influence and inspiration on my artmarking, which expands to include abstraction and stylistic representation.
I have been a practicing artist for over 45 years with numerous works in public collections, including the National Gallery of Australia, Westmead and Liverpool Hospital Art Collections and private collections in London and throughout Australia. As a graduate of the National Art School, I enjoy engaging with others in their learning of the visual arts and design, in particular in the teaching of painting and drawing.
I am an Art Educator in practice and theory. I tutor privately across a wide range of age groups. In practical terms I use knowledge of advanced colour theory and printmaking techniques along with the fundamentals of drawing and painting, perfecting a step-by-step learning method.
My work as an art therapist includes assisting people with a disability, physical and mental illness.
